Welcome to the web site of the Forest Players. We are an amateur dramatic group
based in Forest Row, East Sussex and East Grinstead, West Sussex.
The Forest Players was formed in 2007 as a result of the merger of the
Forest Row Dramatic Society (Forest Row) and the Sackville Players (East
Grinstead). Each of these groups had been performing plays for over 50 years. In
2005 they began performing joint productions in addition to their own separate
productions. By late 2006 it was obvious that the two groups had in fact merged
in all but name. In 2007 they formally merged and became the Forest Players.
Our Mission
The objective of the Forest Players is the presentation of plays, musicals
and other similar entertainments in Forest Row and East Grinstead.

A Parlour Party was held for all Members and Friends on
Saturday 2nd February at 8pm in the Peter Griffits Hall (ie small hall),
Freshfield Hall, Forest Row.
The idea behind the evening was to follow the Victorian custom of the
family getting together in the front parlour and anyone who wishes to
perform an item does so!! For those of you unfortunate enough not to
have been to one of our parlour parties, the procedure is that the MC
approaches all attendees on the night to see if they wish to contribute
an item and then quickly conjures up a running order. This time we had,
as usual, a wide range of acts including songs, sketches and poems.
Many thanks to all involved, especially to Caroline and Alison for
arranging the fabulous food and, of course, to Pete on the piano.
The Happiest Days Of Your Life : 13th - 17th
November 2007
